Discipleship VI – “Building Spiritual Christians”
Downlaod the Discipleship VI Course Material English / Spanish
The born-again life seems to be very complicated to most Christians. There is a conflict within each saved person that is misunderstood regarding the power of sin and how it controls a Christian’s life. Secular religions place this battle in the hands of people and not in the hands of God. Much teaching and preaching is centered on how to win over sin. What people do not realize is that the battle with sin is already won by the life and death of Jesus Christ.
Most of what is called “Christian” teaching renders a person ‘half-saved’. Most Christians are taught that when a person is saved he is given a new eternal life, but he has to continue to live the old life or fleshly life until he dies.
The Bible clearly teaches that when a person gets saved God not only gives him eternal life, but He also gives him the Holy Spirit and the sinless life of God. II Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” I John 3:9 “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.”
Living the Christian life should not be a battle, but it should be a surrender. However, it is not in the human nature to surrender. A Christian fights his whole life trying to defeat sin without ever learning that Jesus has already won the victory over sin.
