How To Go To Heaven

Do you ever wonder where you’ll go after you die? What if the Bible is true and there really is a Heaven and a Hell? What does the Bible have to say? Will a loving God send someone to hell? Read on for the answers…

Have you ever done anything wrong? If so, this is sin. From stealing a cookie to murder, its all sin. In fact, the Bible says in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Everyone has sinned – simply stated, everyone does wrong.

What is the penalty for this sin? Romans 6:23a says “For the wages of sin is death.” A wage is something you earn. Therefore, because you’ve sinned, you’ve earned death in hell which is separation from God. Did you know that the payment for sin is death in hell? Jesus, when He died on the cross, went to hell and left your sins there so you wouldn’t have to go yourself. For if you go, you can’t leave, but Jesus did leave and He rose again, thus having victory over sin.

God’s Gift – eternity in Heaven: Romans 6:23b says “but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” A gift is something that someone gives you. It doesn’t cost you anything, but does cost the giver. They had to earn a wage and pay for that gift. Jesus paid for our gift which is eternity in heaven with Him.

How do I accept God’s gift? Romans 10: 9-10 says “That if thou shalt confess with they mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thous shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness: and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

First you must believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died on the cross and rose again. Second, you must ask him to come into your heart trusting in Him alone. That means you don’t trust in a previous baptism, church membership or good works. The book of Ephesians says “not of works lest any man should boast.” You can’t earn your way to Heaven, in fact, our righteousness stinks in God’s sight.

So why would God give you this gift? John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Jesus loves you. He loves you so much He died just for you. It’s hard to believe, but it’s true. He really loves you that much!

What do I do now? You need to pray and ask Jesus into your heart trusting only in Him. If you don’t know what to say, repeat this prayer. However, you must realize that God sees your heart and saying the words without meaning them won’t matter. It takes praying AND believing.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and have done wrong things. And because of these wrong things I will die and go to hell. But Jesus, I’m asking you to come into my heart and to forgive me of my sins and to take me to heaven. Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross. I love you! In Jesus name, Amen.
